Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This policy covers the game Strike Star and this website, both from Clown Shoes Studios, an independent games developer based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). The short version: we don't collect, store or sell your personal data. The details are below.
The game
What stays on your PC
Strike Star saves your settings, controls, achievements, career statistics and match logs in a folder on your own computer (%APPDATA%\Strike Star). These files are never sent to us. You can delete them at any time, which resets the game.
Epic Games sign-in and achievements
When you start Strike Star from the Epic Games Launcher, the game signs in to your Epic Games account using Epic Online Services so that your achievements are recorded on your Epic account. To do this, Epic shares your basic profile (your Epic account ID and display name) with the game, and the game uses an Epic-issued ID for Strike Star to unlock achievements and read which ones you have already earned.
This information is used only for achievements. We do not copy it, store it on our own systems, or use it for anything else. It is held and processed by Epic Games under the Epic Games Privacy Policy. If you start the game without the Epic launcher, it does not connect to Epic at all.
What the game does not do
- No analytics, telemetry or tracking
- No advertising
- No in-game purchases
- No chat, multiplayer or user-generated content
- No collection of personal data by us
This website
This website has no accounts, forms, analytics or advertising, and sets no cookies. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may log your IP address for security and operations under the GitHub Privacy Statement. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them, under the Google Privacy Policy.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. Epic Games applies its own age and parental-consent rules to Epic accounts.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you have rights over your personal data, including access and deletion. Because we hold no personal data from the game, requests about your Epic account and achievement data should go to Epic Games. For anything else, or questions about this policy, contact us at contact@clownshoesstudios.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If the game or website starts handling data differently (for example, if we add online features), we will update this policy and the date at the top before the change goes live.
